The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
